Als eerste gaf mijn Raymarine windgever in de mast de geest. Volkomen. Al in 2017 weigerde de gever windrichtingen uit een bepaalde achterlijke hoek aan te geven maar op dat moment was het nog een blinde vlek. Maar vorig jaar (2019) was het dan helemaal afgelopen. Hoe sterk de wind ook blies, de rotor wilde niet meer draaien. Flux een nieuwe gekocht om vast te stellen dat die niet met instrumenten van voor 2004 werkt. Mijn instrumenten zijn allen Raymarine ST60 van 2000 / 2001 op zijn vroegst. Alle instrumenten en mijn autopiloot hebben wel iets. De autopiloot tacked niet meer naar stuurboord bij de Tri-Data gaat het licht niet meer aan. Tja, een ge(mis)bruikte boot, wat wil je. Een nieuwe gebruikte ST4000+ autopiloot had ik al op de kop getikt. Nu moesten Wind en Tri-Data er aan geloven. Op Marktplaats had ik snel wat gevonden. Ik realiseerde me dat dit allemaal gebruikte instrumenten waren en dat er geen garantie of indikatie was mbt hoe lang deze instrumenten nog zouden werken. Ik ontdekte echter dat de Raymarine Graphic in staat is vrijwel alle Sea Talk bus informatie af te beelden. Dus zo lang de instrumenten in iedergeval de informatie op de Sea Talk bus zetten kan heb ik een back-up methode om de informatie te lezen. Ook de Raymarine Graphic was snel op Marktplaats gevonden. Toen ik op zoek ging naar een Sea Talk kabeltje liep ik tegen de originele instrumentenpanelen voor mijn Bavaria 34 aan. Tot dan was ik er van overtuigd gweest dat die niet (meer) te krijgen waren.

First my Raymarine masthead wind instrument gave up. It wasn't unexpected. Already in 2017 wind directions from a certain angle wasn't indicated any more. Just a blind spot. Last year, however, the instrument gave up altogether. No matter how strong the wind the rotor didn't move anymore. A new one was ordered. Sadly, this instrument would not work with pre 2004 instruments. All my instruments, Raymarine ST60, are pre 2001, at least. Besides all my instruments seem to have developed some sort of problem. My autopilot only tackt to port and the light on the Tri-Data doesn't work anymore. I already had bought a ST4000+ autopilot but now Wind and Tri-Data had to follow suite. I found something fairly quickly on e-bay. I realised that I was buying used instruments and that there was no guaranty on how long these instruments would still be working. I found out that the Raymarine Graphic was able to indicate everything the other instruments could display as well. So as long as the other instruments were able to put information on the Sea Talk bus I at least would have a back-up way to display the information. The Raymarrine Graphic was quickly found on E-Bay. When looking for an additional Sea Talk cable I ran into the original instrument panels for my Bavaria 34. Until then I was sure they were not for sale (anymore).

Gemaakt uit kunststof kun je dit paneel krijgen zonder, met 1 of met 3 gaten, gemaakt voor de Raymarine instrumenten (90 mm diameter). Ik had 4 gaten nodig maar omdat ik ook nog een kaartenplotter, marifoon buitenstation en een USB-stroomgever op het paneel heb zaten de 3 gaten (bovenlangs naast elkaar) op de verkeerde plaats. Dus maar 1 gat en dan zelf freubelen.

Made from some sort of plastic this panel can be had with 1 or 3 holes made for the Raymarine instruments (90 mm diametre). I needed 4 holes but because I have chart plotter, VHF 2nd station and a USB-charger connector on the panel as well, the 3 holes (in a row along the top) were useles to me. So, I went with the 1 hole and hoped to be able to come up with a solution for the other 3 major holes.

Natuurlijk is de kabelbrei ein hoofdpijnpunt. Hoe en waar boor ik die gaten was het volgende pijnpunt. Off course the cable salad a major pain in "the you know where". The other where and how to put the holes.

Het is een beetje woekeren met de ruimte maar ten slotte past alles. De nieuwe (oude) Raymarine Graphic ST60+ rechts boven van de vier Raymarine instrumenten.  It was a bit of puzzle but in the end everything has been fitted. The new (old) Raymarine Graphic ST60+ is in the top right corner of the Raymarine instruments.
